This project is the realisation of a social utopia. It provides living space for more than 300 people and room for work, leisure and several activities. It is a self-managed project built in a new exceptional building. People moved in in summer 2001.

Rote Fabrik Cultural Centre
Beautiful located in an abandoned silk factory, on the shores of Lake Zurich, Rote Fabrik today is one of Europe's largest, most diverse and longest-standing alternative cultural centres. Every year, about 200'000 people come to one or more of the 300 events, the restaruant, the schools, or the exhibition hall. More than 200 musicians, actors and artists work, study and rehearse in the many studios of the old factory. Rote Fabrik offers about 80 permanent studios of the old factory. Rote Rabrik offers about 80 permanent jobs. What all started as a protest movement in 1980 has produced one of Zurich's largest cultural institution.

With a critical attitude it is concerned with actual developments in Vienna where it  is issued and in other cities. Most of the issues  foucus on a topic like urban culture,gentrification, ecology etc. 
The Land is Ours - TLIO, UK
This movement has many different branches of action. Very important work is done by supporting, lobbying and networking local groups, landrights groups, road protests. One of the major actions of the past years was the Wandsworth occupation in London.

CSOA was founded in 1986. The former fort is used as a cultural or community centre, space to live and work. Over the past ten years, the entire area of approximately 13 hectares, containing numerous rooms and green areas, could gradually be used for all sorts of cultural events. It is fully self-managed and all decisions are taken collectively like in many other Centri Sociali.

° CINEMA NOVA, Brussels
In a time when the lines between art/ entertainment/ industry are rotting away, it isn‚t easy to come across films, which haven‚t been backed by enormous production and marketing budgets. In 1997 Cinema Nova, a one screen cinema, opened its doors aiming to help heal this lack of accessibility to alternative, unconventional and challenging approaches in cinema. While the Nova Project remains a non profit association operating entirely on volunteers, its reach and reputation long since spread past Belgium‚s borders.

° LED ART / ICE ART GROUP
Novi Sad/Belgrade. The multimedia group LED ART (Led = Ice) was founded in 1993, in the specific social-political climate in Yugoslavia (war, destruction, poverty). ICE ART pleads for active artistic resistance. Working with ice as one state of water is the symbol for various levels of existential questioning which can be interpreted in two ways: as interruption of life functions until death or as hibernation. ICE ART creates in urban milieu (performance, installation, photography, action, questionnaire) and chooses unusual spaces to exhibit (refrigerator truck, garages, street/public space, garbage dumps). Led-Art is an INURA member since 1999.
° The South of the Cities
With the project ” The south of the cities”, the Institute for Theology and Politics (ITP) wants to point to symmetries and asymmetries in cities of the global South and North. Simultaneously, we want to find out how to actually work against a neoliberal reorganisation of cities in a solidary way. The focus is on grassroot organisations and organisations in social movements. The project aims at establishing links for a “globalisation from below”
